PTG Studios is pleased to announce the selection of Great Commission Association of Churches for its innovative, educational television series, Today’s Family. The company will be featured in a segment on “Reaching Your World for Christ” as part of the series on “Until the Whole World Hears.”

The Great Commission church movement, based in Pataskala, OH, began in 1970 to glorify the name of Jesus, and is active currently in 21 countries in over 180 locations. It is comprised of U.S. community churches, campus churches & ministries, high school ministries, as well as those for international students studying in the U.S., and overseas churches—evangelical Christian churches in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia. They believe that all Christians are empowered through the Holy Spirit to work in the church, and therefore they seek to equip every member for that purpose and to serve others.

The Great Commission plants churches and offers leadership training programs. It exists for equipping (conferences and written materials), unity (building cooperation between churches and the Great Commission) and accountability of pastors and churches.

While in the 1970s, the Association was a loose fellowship of campus churches, it became GCI (Great Commission International) in the 1980s as a formal organization providing direction for church planting and accountability to the churches. In 1989, GCI became the current Great Commission Association of Churches (GCAC).

–Aunt Chick? Cookie Cutters live on–

PTG Studios is pleased to announce the selection of Gramma’s Cutters Corp. for its innovative, educational television series, Today’s Family. The organization will be featured in a segment on “Food for the Holidays” in our Holiday Collection Series.

Gramma’s Cutters Corp., based in Bloomfield, NY, is the place to find classic Aunt Chick™ cookie cutters on a site dedicated to all things “Aunt Chick”™. They offer the unique opportunity for those who have loved these holiday cutters for generations to bring back traditional family values through their products by getting families to starting cooking and baking together again, just like Aunt Chick intended.

Featured themed sets include: Merry Christmas, Happy Day, American Traditions, Special Day, Flower Garden, Jolly Day, and Pastry. Cutter designs come in unique varieties from Jolly Santa and a Stocking Full of Toys, to a Snowman, Jack-o’-lantern, Easter Bunny, Clown, Cupid, the American Flag, and a Pilgrim.

“Aunt Chick,” a.k.a. Nettie McBirney, became an international figure for her culinary inventions in the 1930’s and 40’s. In 1948 her cutting edge invention of plastic embossed molds with special pebbled interiors, to keep the dough from sticking, revolutionized cookie cutters and created a worldwide tradition. But by 1982, they were hard to find. Bakers began stashing them away for fear that they would never be available again.

Carrie Greno, founder and president of Gramma’s Cutters, was first introduced to these cutters through her grandmother, Bunny Pittenger, who purchased the Merry Xmas Set in 1949. Bunny said she had her children making cookies before they could walk.

Over the past ten years, Greno’s family has located and acquired all of the original Aunt Chick’s molds, trademark and copyrights. In that time, the company has offered some vintage and reproduction cutters.

PTG Studios is pleased to announce the selection of Grace Brethren North American Missions for its innovative, educational television series, Today’s Family. The company will be featured in a segment on “Reaching Your World for Christ” in the series “Until The Whole World Hears.” It will be aired on WE, Women’s Entertainment Network, ABC Family Network, and on PAX networks regionally.
Founded in 1939, Grace Brethren North American Missions (GBNAM) is the North American church-planting ministry of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, and is dedicated to reaching those in the U.S. and Canada for Christ. They serve in three areas of Initiatives: Regional, World Class City, and Ethnic American (Hispanics, American Indians, Asians, Albanians, Haitians and Caribbeans).

They believe that planting new churches is the best way to fulfill the Great Commission, by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, building communities of faith, and helping them become fully devoted followers of Jesus.

The segment will tell the story of selected Christian ministries and groups that are sharing the gospel, making disciples and getting people involved; encouraging those people to show their love of Jesus by word and deed; and showing how families and individuals can make a difference in the lives of others through donations of money, time, prayers and in-kind gifts, and much more.

Uploaded by ptgstudios

PTG Studios is pleased to announce the selection of Everett, WA-based Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza for its innovative, educational television series, “Today’s Family.” The company will be featured in a “Be Your Own Boss” segment in a series highlighting America’s Best Franchise Opportunities.

Sounds like a simple concept—offer unforgettable pizza and get it there fast. Yet, it took a whole new franchise to achieve this. The “Garlic Guys” figured out how to make delicious gourmet pizza while providing excellent and fast service to your door. They have perfected the “science” of prompt pizza delivery by experimenting and formulating the best tasting pizza on the market. Never again will you have to choose between great pizza and great service. The executives all have years of experience with pizza—on a national level as well as on a local one.

They offer “Gourmet right away” pizza selections and incorporate unusual ingredients such as cashews, marinated artichoke hearts and coconut into their signature pies. In addition to the new Smokin’ Sweet BBQ Chicken, Garlic Jim’s offers such gourmet pizza options as: Nutty Chipotle™, zesty chipotle pesto topped with spicy sausage, pepperoni, red onions, tomatoes and cashews, Jim’s Gourmet Garlic™, basil pesto sauce, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, red onions, sun dried tomatoes and feta cheese, and Chicken Bacon Ranch, premium chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onions and creamy ranch sauce. Rich buttermilk goes into the hand-tossed dough, which is cooled and delivered fresh to each pizza location. Garlic Jim’s also uses whole milk mozzarella produced by an Idaho dairy and a custom, freshly packed pizza sauce made from California tomatoes.

Garlic Jim’s is a one-of-a-kind concept and franchise system offering: ongoing operational training and assistance, a complete launch support package for franchisees, regional commissaries as a foundation for profitable growth, marketing programs and consistent branding. In addition to exceptional taste by using only fresh, high quality ingredients, Garlic Jim’s offers customers the best pizza experience on the market. From the expertly designed and refined kitchen to the modern lobby, from customer care to prompt carry-out and delivery times, Garlic Jim’s exudes upscale gourmet in every aspect of operation.
So far, it’s been a recipe for a chain that’s expanded from one store to two dozen in multiple states in just two years. And Garlic Jim’s plans to open dozens more franchises in the coming year.

“We’re right on pace with our goal, to sell 500 locations within five years,” said Dwayne Northrop, the company’s president and chief executive officer. Plans call for an additional 120 units to be sold in CA, AZ, NV, WA and OR, and opening another 27, for a total of 50 opened units by the end of 2006. In addition, Garlic Jim’s recently announced a 70-store sub-franchise agreement throughout Northern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, with the corporate franchising company Francept, LLC.

– Funding research, patient support and education –

May 16, 2007, Deerfield Beach, FL – Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. for its innovative, educational television series, Today’s Family. The company will be featured in a segment on “Touching Hearts and Changing Lives” as part of a series on Getting America Involved.

“To ease the burden, to find the cure,” is the mission of the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), founded in 1961.  They do this by getting families and individuals involved and raising awareness about the disease. APDA, the largest grass roots organization serving this community in the U.S., has given more than $60 million to support projects and programs dedicated to the disease, such as research, patient support, and free educational materials. Parkinson’s disease affects more than 1.5 million Americans, and 15 per cent are under the age of 50.

The group understands the variety of needs involved as well. “The whole family gets the disease,” explains Kathryn Whitford, the communications director, in discussing how APDA does not only treat the patient, but also the family involved as well because everyone is affected.

Many volunteer and donation opportunities exist and APDA is eager for help! APDA is encouraging volunteers to contact Congressional representatives and encourage support for funding a five-year plan for Parkinson’s research. APDA also encourages volunteers to assist with special events such as Walk-a-Thons.

Donations can either be made by check or credit card or in the form of gift annuities or a bequest.  The charitable gift annuity is a contract between a donor and a charity, such as APDA, of a specified amount of annual payments, paid in equal quarterly installments, to one or two beneficiaries. A deferred gift annuity allows a person to make a current gift, delay receipt of the payments until some pre-selected future date, and still qualify for an income tax charitable deduction now.

Bequests, regardless of size, are appreciated and everything helps. Headquartered in New York, the organization focuses its energies on research, patient support, education and raising public awareness of the disease.  There are 58 chapters with volunteers, and 59 centers that are professionally staffed, offering research and patient support, as well as respite programs for caregivers and other support groups. For more information, see www.apdaparkinson.org.
